Offered during Session 3 only, July 23rd - August 3rd.

Accompanied by one veteran Somerset teacher and two experienced counselors, rising 4th - 6th graders set off on an exciting series of 5 explorations in and around our nation's capital.   Campers safely navigate public transportation and city streets as they sample what the DC Metro area has to offer.   Destinations include:

  • Museums
  • Monuments
  • Cultural sites
  • Parks, trails, and natural features
  • World famous attractions
  • Unique local treasures
  • Hidden gems

Our beloved CityVentures teacher and Somerset Elementary School 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Regina Sakaria, is an expert at assembling an exciting variety of excursions each year that balance learning and fun, with an emphasis on hands-on experiences and lesser-known destinations that campers are unlikely to have visited multiple times before.

On non-travel days, CityVenturers will participate in enrichment and follow-up activities related to their upcoming and recent excursions, as well as enjoy select Seniors classes and visit the pool with the Camp Summerset Seniors.
